Assisted Living -
"Words cannot even begin to express our gratitude for all of the good care and kind words you have extended to us for the past 4-1/2 years. You truly have gone the extra mile! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you."
- Mary R., daughter
"To our friends & family at The Oaks-
We want to thank you all for the care you gave to Mom these last five years. Many of you touched her life in so many ways while she lived there. We were glad she was in a place where we knew she was looked after, fed, and cared for each day. God Bless each of you!"
- Martha R., daughter
"Dear Nurses and Staff at The Oaks,
I would like to thank you for the wonderful care and many kindnesses that you showed to my mother. She often told me that everyone who came into her room had a smile on their face. I also feel so grateful that you took time from your busy schedule to visit her at the nursing center. You are all such special people and truly 'angels among us'."
- Suzanne T., daughter
"We want to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all the loving care you gave Mom & Dad during their stay at The Oaks. Dad was there 16 months and Mom was there 6 years. My how the time flew. It takes very special people to do what you all do and we are so very grateful that we found you! We think of you often and hope all is well with each and everyone of you. God bless you all."
- Ann T, Daughter
"Surely I don't want another month to go by without telling you and your staff at the Joseph C. Thomas Center how often you are in our thoughts. The remembrances of how carefully your staff helped, assisted and encouraged Dad during his final months brings recurring comfort to my heart. Please extend our good wishes for daily success to the members of the JCT personnel."
- Virginia S., daughter
"To the staff of Richfield, I would like to say thank you for the wonderful care you extended to my mother. She loved you all and I know you went beyond the norm in caring for her everyday. Your dedication to the elderly is truly beyond words. Thank you again."
- Everett S., son
"For almost 3-1/2 years, Mom was a resident at the Memory Care Center. We want to try to express our gratitude for the loving care she received there. I know Mom was happy, felt safe and connected to so many of you. I watched how she smiled and reacted to you. I noticed how well she was cared for. I know she could be difficult due to her Alzheimer's and my own experience as I tried to care for her for as long as I could. You all exhibited so much patience with her. I also noticed how you cared for her beyond what was expected. Each of you are very special people that we believe have a beautiful love and burden for the elderly and disabled. We could see it in your faces as you worked with the residents there. You couldn't do what you do on a daily basis otherwise. You are heroes to us. We couldn't imagine what Mom's life would have been like without you in it."
- Linda M., daughter
Recovery & Care Center -
"During my mother's brief time at Richfield, she received superior care, kind and loving attention, professional assistance and all the medical, therapeutic and emotional support I could want for my Mom. I sing priases to your staff every chance I get, and often, here in Blacksburg, people will respond 'that's nice to know.' . . ."This is a tribute to your human resources department, your training techniques, the management staff, medical teams, therapy contractors and the top brass, who set the tone for how a place operates in terms of attitude and atmosphere. Please run your copy machine right out of paper copying this letter to all appropriate people and departments.... Thank you, everyone who reads this. May the Lord bless you, personally and professionally and sustain you in your work and enrich you in your lives. Thank you, thank you."
-Joanne A., daughter
"This facility has some very caring and dedicated workers - from the lowest to highest positions. I am thankful for all the help, love and care I have received while recuperating."
- From Resident Survey
"My family had the pleasure of dining in the Richfield cafeteria with our father on Thanksgiving and I must express to you how delicious everything was and such a nice presentation! We so enjoyed ourselves and still "got to be a family". My parents are now residents at The Oaks and we look forward to more happy memories "as a family". Please convey our deepest appreciation to you and your staff for allowing us to have a wonderful holiday! "
- Anne B. - daughter
"I cannot improve on something that is perfect. I have stayed here twice for knee replacement recovery and it gets better each time."
- From Resident Survey
"My OT and PT therapists were exceptionally caring and helpful. Both addressed my concerns with respect and were helpful in showing me how to overcome my fears. All the aides and nurses were caring and very helpful in a caring manner."
- From Resident Survey
"I wanted to express my appreciation and to let you know about the excellent care I received in Rehab on 2-West. The entire staff was professional, kind, considerate, friendly and responsive to my needs. One couldn't expect any better care than I received. I will not hesitate to recommend Richfield Rehab to everyone!!"

"To you, as officers of Richfield-
... Recently I came by ambulance to the Recovery & Care Center as a patient who had been in surgery with a hip replacement . . . Everyone was very solicitous for my comfort in making this move . . . Nurses, aides, housekeepers and transporters were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. In my opinion the best professionally! Congratulations to you for your selection of these very special people . . . . My sojourn at RRCC was very beneficial and as comfortable as recuperation can be, I think. I thank everyone sincerely . . . There was no impression of 'This is my duty', but one of 'This is something I like to do for others'. Very commendable! I'm writing to you in a personal way, as I wish to say that what you are doing at RRCC is very positive. Also, I realize that it is only a very small part of Richfield, but, oh so very important in the scheme of living here. Who am I? I am an 89 year old resident of Knollwood. Sincerely -"
